Start your underwater adventure
When learning to scuba dive you open up a new world of underwater adventures and it can be a life-changing experience for you. If you want to learn to dive, the BSAC’s Ocean Diver course is the way to start. This entry-level open water diver qualification will teach you with the core skills to dive to a maximum of 20 metres in open water, in the UK and abroad.
Before we start:
- The BSAC Ocean Diver course is open to anyone from the age of 12.
- You need to be able to comfortably swim 200m in a pool
- You only need swimsuit and towel.
What you learn:
We will start by getting you comfortable breathing underwater in a sheltered area in the bay just in front of our dive centre. You learn skills so you can safely dive in open water. After that, we do four dives to develop your skills and confidence in open water. After successfully completing the 5 theory lessons together with confined and open water training, the OCEAN DIVER Certification is awarded.
As a certified Ocean Diver, you can dive together with another Ocean Diver to a max depth of 20 meter under the supervision of a Dive Manager – so long as you stick to familiar locations and conditions you have encountered during your training.
This package includes certification, student crew pack, compulsory insurance, 3 months free BSAC membership and all necessary equipment.
A warm welcome at Safari Diving BSAC Referrals for the completion of Club or Ocean Diver qualifications are offered at the dive centre. These dives are only 50 euros each.
Excellent Training Centre
Tagged along with my brother and sister-in-law, who have dived with Safari in the past, to do my BSAC Ocean Diver course as I didn’t fancy the cold waters of the UK. I was not disappointed! … A massive thank-you to my instructor, Adam, who picked up very quickly what my learning style is and kept me relaxed throughout my training with plenty of banter! All the staff here are fantastic and are a credit to Safari. ….
I would thoroughly recommend Safari for both diving and training – I shall definitely be back to do my Sports Diver.
