Powerboating

Until recently Safari Diving was a recognised teaching establishment of the Royal Yachting Association. Infact the first RYA training centre for powerboating courses on Lanzarote!

With the continuing increase in our Scuba diving business, we reluctantly decided to concentrate solely on Scuba Diving.

However our ties with powerboating courses have not ended as our good friend Norman Sparrow operates LANZAROTE POWERBOAT SERVICES which is based in the exclusive Puerto Calero Marina.

Lanzarote Powerboat Services is a RYA Training centre and offers powerboat courses (Level 1, Level 2, Intermediate and Advanced ) together with Essential Navigation and Seamanship, and Day skipper shorebased theory courses.

The practical sessions of the pwerboat courses are carried out in a Valient DR-750 RIB powered by a Volvo Penta D3 160HP inboard diesel engine and fitted with VHF (DSC) radio, chartplotter, echo sounder and a full compliment of safety eqiupment.

Don't forget that Safari Diving is also a BSAC Seamanship centre and, as such, can carry out BSAC Boat Handling and Diver Cox'n courses. These are also carried out by Norman who, apart from being a RYA Powerboat Advanced Instructor is also a BSAC Advanced Instructor.

Level 1

Introduction to powerboating

The course is based heavily towards practical training and so the time in the classroom is quote limited.

This RYA level 1 course encompass the introduction to powerboating and will be conducted in a planning boat.

On the end of this day the student will be awarded with the RYA level 1 powerboat certificate.

Level 2

National Powerboat Certificate & International Certificate Of Competence

INCORPORATES LEVEL1 & NATIONAL POWERBOAT CERTIFICATE INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCE (ICC)
